It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, but BYU's Jimmer Fredette has been named as a finalist for this season's Naismith Award for best college basketball player. The other two finalists are Kemba Walker of UConn and Jared Sullinger of Ohio State.
Of the three, Jimmer seems to pretty clearly be the front runner. Because he has already been named player of the year by a couple of other organizations, though, it is possible that the Naismith Award could decide to surprise us.
