Jimmer started his short rookie season strong but then fell prey to staff changes, coaching errors, and selfishness by teammates that deprived him of the quality playing time he deserved. For a full rundown of the problems, see yesterday's excellent Jimmer article in the Daily Herald.
Despite all that, though, Jimmer ended the season with an average of 7.6 points and 1.8 assists -- a solid performance for a rookie.
Look at Jimmer's college record: He averaged 7 points per game in his freshman season, and gradually worked his way up to college greatness (28.9 points per game). That is what he is doing in the NBA now. People who see his rookie year as a failure simply do not understand Jimmer. Keep watching. He will be an NBA star in his own time.
